How to Clean Venetian Blinds

Here are some helpful instructions to help keep your Venetian Blinds looking brand new all year round.

Things you’ll need:

Step 1:

Close the slats prior to dusting and using either a feather or wool duster or even a paint brush remove any build up on the blinds. Start from the top first and work your way down to the bottom.

Step 2:

With the slats closed, gently spray 5-10 squirts of the all purpose cleaning spray starting from the top. Leave this to settle for a few minutes.

Step 3:

Using the wet cloth, work the spray into any areas that may have a build up of dirt and grime. Rub each slat with the cloth thoroughly. Rinse the cloth after every few wipes to ensure you are not rubbing dirt and grease back onto the blind.

Step 4:

When finished, use the dry cloth to clean up any wet areas and remove the last remnants of dirt or cleaning spray This will give your blinds a sparkling look each and every time. To clean the other side you may be able to swivel the slats so that the underneath is facing outwards. If not, simply flip them over and repeat.

Handy Hint: If you’re pressed for time use a vacuum cleaners hose attachment. Simply run the vacuum over each slat which will pick up any dirt or dust.
